Idle Tuning 1.6 MS3
2 Attachment(s)
Hello all. My 1.6L street car project has been slowly coming together. Now the biggest thing separating me from a "reliable" turbo car is a poor idle. I've gone through many threads here on this topic as well as spent time reading the ms manual but I am not able to diagnose what my issue is.
From my understanding the first step to tuning idle is to ensure a stable idle in open loop mode to verify good spark and fuel tables. This is where I find myself chasing my tail. I am unable to maintain a stable rpm without some oscillation +-150ish rpm. The only things I am changing at this stage is the spark and fuel map down in the idle cells and I am doing so pretty vaguely setting many cells to the same value. I am able to reach my target (1000rpm) and see good AFR's (mid to low 13s) for a brief period. After so long it will stumble and the oscillation starts. Right now it just feels like I'm chasing a moving target trying to get the idle stable even in open loop mode. I am pretty new to all this stuff so I was hoping to get a more calibrated set of eyes on my tune and log. At this point I feel like overlooking something or don't understand these tables like I think, point me in the right direction.
