I'm confused - MS3X in a 94-95 trubokitty build, knock sensor?
4 Attachment(s)
I've got a 1995 that I'm dropping a 2001 VVT engine into, had a buddy build an MS3X using trubokitty's instructions. I'm confused by the 94-95 wire schematics showing the knock sensor wire going to connector 1 (orange/red).
Attachment 228256 To my knowledge (which admittedly is a handful of google searches) my 1995 didn't leave the factory with a knock sensor, that didn't happen until 1999(?). So I Googled some more and, if the diagram I found is correct, it looks like Wiring the knock sensor to that pin on a 94-95 ties it into the EGR? Attachment 228257 Attachment 228258 Attachment 228259 Now, I'm assuming I'm wrong here, just looking for clarification that my current pinouts are correct before gluing up the connector. I was under the impression that I'd need to run new wires to the knock sensor? |
Are you saying you're trying to keep egr function and don't want to splice the knock sensor there? I'm pretty sure you could just run a wire from an empty output.
I think it's just like that to keep things simple and assuming that your blocking off/ not using egr. Could be totally wrong tho... |
That is just the point that Braineack runs in the Knock sensor wire. Using the EGR wiring makes things easier. Do know that if you want to have knock control you have to have purchased the knock module to add the the MS3X.
