Default Converting an MS1 to MS3... Possible?

I've been looking into converting my MS1 to an MS2. It seems pretty easy from what I've read up on the MSExtra website.

Reading up on the MS3 recently, I figured I could just take the leap and upgrade to MS3 if I'm going to do this. However I haven't found much anything at all about it. Is it possible to be done? I know the MS3 now uses an extra USB connector on the daughtercard which would in the very least require me to modify the case, but what I'm looking for is information on how the wiring of the PCB changes.

Can it be done, or am I better off starting from scratch?

Yes, easily done. You have to wire one jumper extra, which is the same for ms2 or 3, and you do need the ms3 case as its taller. A lot of the real glory of ms3 comes from the ms3x btw... but if you aren't looking for sequential or more inputs/outputs then it doesn't matter.

you can probably sell your MS1, buy a whole MS3X kit and end up with more money.

The MS3 was designed to work on the same mainboard as all the other MS processors, in a way it's to it's detriment that it can as 90% of the stuff on the mainboard is no longer required.

But it's been done that way to allow an upgrade path.

So yes you can.

Yes, that's mainly what I'm looking for. I want to add sequential injection and COPs to my car, I'm fine as far as outputs go though :P

I figured upgrading to MS2 would be pretty easy, but since I'm upgrading I want to look into the MS3 (maybe with MS3X) now as a possible way to go. I think I'll build an MS3X from scratch though, that way I can still use my MS1 meanwhile, and sell it on or reuse it afterwards.
