Injector Timing Stuff
'93 1.6 standard injector drivers, 700cc
Im trying to tune throttle response at idle, I figure getting the right injector timing down there will help a bit. Ive done some reading on here and general consensus is to start at 360 and dance around there, so I went to an empty parking lot and did that. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...a4a3a1fa03.png I have it set to mid pulse and each step is a 20 degree change. If I were tuning for throttle response, would I want to target lowest MAP or lowest AFR? Seems to be about a 20 degree difference. |

IMO There's no way that VE table is tuned properly. If that's not tuned properly you shouldn't draw any conclusions from injector timing changes.

youre right, i shouldnt have shown that, i dont want to spread misinformation

Go check out https://evansperformanceacademy.vhx.tv/ and sign up for a month. He has some good videos about injector timing, and how to properly tune it. But as mentioned above I believe you want a pretty dialed in fuel map before you start playing with it.

What do you think is wrong with it? I know overun isnt dialed in very much, im aware, im working on it. You think the injector dead timing is off? |
You have some very steep jumps between cells next to each other in the same row targeting the same AFR. That's always a red flag.
The values in your idle area are spread out further than I'd expect. That could indicate a deadtime issue. I am just making guesses without a proper log/tune but it looks like you have other things to sort out before worrying about injector timing. |
Ill do some experimenting, im starting to think the injectors I got off classifieds arent legit.
