Installed FIC 900cc Injectors, what to change?
I installed the injectors and then went to Fuel Settings: Injector dead times: then set the dead time at 1.266 based on the formula in another thread and the data sent with the injectors. I clicked on the voltage- % chart and changed the data to the following:
V % 8.0 175 10.0 145 12.0 118 14.0 87 16.0 73 19.2 0.0 Turned the key several times to prime the pump and then tried to start the car... nothing. Several more tries and it eventually stumbled a bit if I gave it a little gas. Then I restored the orig settings and same thing. Wouldn't really start and ran terribly once it did. I'm sure I've missed something... what is it? |
What did you have for injectors before?
What was the required fuel before and after? |
Seconded. Definitely have to change Req_Fuel if you haven't.
|
Stock NB injectors. I did look for REQ_FUEL but could not find that in the MS3 menus... and what would I change it to? TIA!
|
It would have to go way down. If you didn't change anything, it's most likely flooded. You need new plugs.
|
Req fuel is the most important one to change.
It should be under basic engine settings. Left most tab |
Basic/Load settings -> Engine And Sequential Settings.

I think I found this setting this am, but what I found just asked for the injector size... Is that what you guys are talking about? Should I use the dead time calculations I came up with above as well?
I'll pick up a new set of plugs today. Have a new cold set ill install with the turbo but would like to tune with the new injectors first. |
there's a little calculator thing there where you plug in engine size and injector size and it gives you its proposed req fuel number
or you can take your old injector size/new injector size and multiply by the difference with 900's you should be somewhere in the 3-4 req fuel range |
Muchas gracious!!

Reaching through the computer to give each of you a big gay hug. Found the setting, made the adjustments including dead time in MS3 and plugged up the laptop.
Oh, and it's 3.5 V. Pretty close guess! As soon as I got home from work I grabbed the laptop- it had bugged me all day- leaving it in an "unrunning" condition. 5 min later I was out in the garage plugging in...I gave it a try before installing the plugs (why not) and vrroom! Can't wait to see if I notice a difference in feel with the superior injectors. Man it's nice having this forum around. Thanks again. |
