Issues under load. Diagnose my log!

Hey guys,
I'm trying to figure out an issue with my car. Under high load (4th, 5th, 6th WOT) I sometimes get loss of sync with issue code 38 or 39. I have opto-isolator circuit. There are 3 of them right here. This is in 5th gear (on a 6spd). https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1337275391 log - http://s95367906.onlinehome.us/photo...20-%20Copy.msl I don't have my exact tune but it's this https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...4&d=1336600059 The only thing I changed since was boost duty - 20% instead of 55%. Ignition is Toyota COPs (all seem to be working. I had 1 die, but right now all are working). Wasted spark. BKR7E plugs gapped down to 0.030. 2.2ms dwell with correct voltage adjustment curve. My ideas: - Detonation? (will retard timing) - Dying CAS? (will try a spare one) - Weak spark? (resistorless NGK Race plugs arriving today) - ????? |
I have no help for you, except to say GODDAMN the power linearity in that log. TPS and MAP rise at almost the same rate.

Could you capture a composite log of the loss of sync?

MS3 will go in after track day because I want to rip out the whole wiring harness. I'll be also using 36-1 wheel and castrated CAS so that will be a whole different topic. I just need to get THIS ---- running NOW. |

heres the sync loss composite log. 2 events in it. I don't know how to interpret.
this was with my old timing map, so I guess I can rule out pre-detonation. Going to try with my spare CAS now. |
I'm pretty sure the issue is in my MS2 mod wiring. It's a clusterfuck.
So I decided to just finish my MS3 (which is a joke to build) and run it with my old wiring/harness/whatever. Flashing firmware on it right now :) |
