Well i get the car running 4 months later again, and its not good. The car was running fine when i put it away with my tune. I did some slight modifications to the MSPNP i de-soldered the old 2.5bar map sensor and soldered in the new 4bar map sensor with the barometric correction. I also soldered in some wires for my watermeth kit.

First i edited the settings in the MS configurator set to 400Kpa and then in the megatune also. So i fire it up revs to 3000rpm right away sounds like its missing or running like crap i just want to get my idle fixed first. So then i unplug the map sensor vac line and it goes down to 1500rpm. (see video)

What did i fuck up in this process, it seems like ive done it right, the only other things i fixed was my dp, p/s pump, fuel rail, and speedo(wasnt working because it wasnt plugged in the back of the tach yes massive fail on my part)

And i thought i fixed my exhaust leak on my car because my dp was leaking so i welded it, but now the stupid begi s4 manifold is leaking where the runners are welded together...FML. I need this thing running properly! Its getting paint and new top soon and another trip to the dyno, and i want to make it out to a meet over in the US of A. Thanks, Mike.

With the key turned on, but the motor not running, what is your MAP reading?

You can send me a datalog and most recent msq to websales@diyautotune.com and I'll look for anything obvious in your tune.

That blows dude....on the bright side, you got plenty of time to get everything squared away, we won't be having our meet for quite a few weeks I dont think.

is your baro set for 90-100 kPa? turn off barometric corrections in the meantime just to test.

stranges12712 03-07-2010 08:17 PM

I will get back to you tomorrow on it, to late and dark now. I will also check the baro tm, but i did turn it on and off and made no difference.

post your MSQ and datalog.

stranges12712 03-08-2010 06:19 PM

Going to do datalog right now never done it before what do i do just push alt+L? Dumb question what is a msq?

Okay there are 3 there. There is one while im cranking, one before i cranked it and one after i cranked it.

I couldn't get one while its running. Hense what im going to tell you i have another problem.

I went to go fire it up ran for like 5 seconds sputtured and died cranked it again same shit, now it wont run at all. So i thought i was out of gas since it was on empty, ran to gas station with jerry can filled up half a tank. Go to start it again nothing.

Oh and also while it was running i could see something igniting in the manifold since its cracked i seen it sparking in there. I dont think thats normal all the combustion should happen in the chamber not the manifold right?

And my MAP reading with just the key on was 101 then after it went to 99.

Finally clicked in what a msq file was. Duh...here it is.

Looks like you had some sort of an issue configuring for the 4 bar sensor and your fuel and spark tables went crazy. I'd recommend loading the newest firmware and basemap, set it up for 4-bar, and give it another shot. You can find the newest files on the download section of our website.

Okay i put back in my old map, some new spark plugs since the old one were soaked in gas from cranking so many times...same thing. I did take a datalog though while it was running. I also tried upgrading my firmware. Did not work. Went through instructions then it says :

download failed, could not open com port one.

Which doesnt make any sense because i am using com port one to tune MS and its working perfectly fine. Do you need internet connection when upgrading the firmware? Cant get wireless out in my garage i set a password for the internet and i cant remember it for my life. I want to get this fixed because i talked to Begi and they are warrentying my manifold :) so i have to get it out asap. Anyways heres the log.

Did you have your tuning software open while trying to burn the firmware?

Um i think megatune was open. Cant remember will try again later and let you know. I will look for vac leaks but i dont think a vac leak would cause that high of an idle?

Ben 03-11-2010 12:00 PM

The open tuning software is why your firmware upload didn't work. The firmware downlaod program needs the com port.

I'm betting on vac leak or stuck idle valve. Vac leak is more likely. Your datalog showed that your ECU is trying to lower idle and that your idle valve is at the commanded full closed setting.

stranges12712 03-11-2010 08:53 PM

WOW. Am i an idiot or what. Well lets just say i fixed my idle issue...last year i had my nitrous, and i drilled and tapped a hole in the throttle body, i sold my nitro this year with everything and totally forgot about that hole. So i started spraying brake cleens on the throttle body, and it started to die so i look around i see the hole. Plug it with my finger ahh nice lumpy cam idle is back with major exhaust leak. So its fixed. Now i just have to remove my turbo manifold and send it back to Begi for a new one since its under warrenty cause its cracked. I cant believe i missed that. Thanks for your help ben. Here come the chirps...
