launch control/flat-foot setup problems

Hey guys, ive decided to graduate to a variable tps. Ive been playing around with all the features I now have access to, but im having trouble with launch control/flat-foot.

Its my understanding that one is supposed to be using the top switch for the clutch, but it seems to be working backwards from all the examples ive seen and read. since the switch grounds the circuit when the clutch is at the top, and ms activates the features when it sees ground on the circuit, launch is always activated UNLESS i have the clutch pressed. Im clearly doing something wrong.

Its worth noting I have the input on the tableswitch pin, as the launch pin doesnt seem to work at all on my MS.

Pls fix.

What Megasquirt do you have?

MSPNP2 1.2 board, 1.6 '93.

It's worth noting that the clutch switch and the neutral safety switch are on the same circuit, at least on my 90. So while it may seem like launch control is active whether the clutch is in or out, it should actually be active when the clutch is in OR the car is in neutral.

Are you running a wire to the clutch switch or using the wire in the existing wire harness?

I have it wired directly to the switch

UPDATE: I rewatched Greg's video, im noticing that his switch works backwards from mine. Maybe the switches work different amongst different year models?

So I decided to open the switch to see the internals and compare it to Greg's.

Plunger with wear marks
Everything looked very similar, spring was fine, though I noticed some weird wear marks on the side of the plunger.

After a quick wash of the sensor and plunger, I noticed one of the fingers was twisted on its mount, and there were wear marks on the side that was leaning inward. This was definitely the cause of the issue, though I don't know why it caused it to go open with the plunger all the way out, it should have been closed all the time. But what do I know, I dont study sensor technology.

Solder blobs
I turned back into place but it was very easy to turn, being a 30 year old sensor it likely just got loose over time. I was concerned with it happening again, so i put some solder blobs on the corners where the copper lays over the aluminum or tin or whatever.

The switch now works flawlessly as intended. Thank you for coming to my TED.

PS: I found the switch was screwed in too far, witch possibly explained some recurring clutch master issues.
