Lean after swap to ID725cc from 460cc RX7 injectors at correct req fuel

Hi,

After I got my ID 725cc injectors finally swapped in I loaded my MSQ which I made of my actual MSQ and the new data for the ID725 injectors.

For my 1,6 the req. fuel should be 3.7, I also put in the new dead times.

After the start at ~15deg C the car was really lean - (even with ASW and WUE running)
Now there are two options - change the VEtable which would bring me in the 70s area at idle (I was at 58 before) or change the req fuel - what would you recommend?

Thanks

First of all, changing the required fuel is just a quick way to get the car going after an injector change. But it won't be perfect. Too many variables. Retuning is required.

As to what the required fuel should be, what you want is relatively high VE numbers in your VE table at the high RPM/high MAP area. But you don't want to overflow the capacity of the variable in memory (it is an unsigned 8-bit variable, maximum value 255). The higher the numbers in your VE table (with a safe buffer from overflow, of course), the finer the resolution on your fuel control.

Change the VE table. It is completely normal for these EV14 injectors to require much higher values in the VE table compared to stock/denso/EV1/EV6 injectors.

I'd leave req fuel what its supposed to be for the ID's and start re-tuning too.

Listen to Rev. I went from 45-50 (rx7s) to 88 (EV14s) in my idle area alone, even after having the correct req_fuel.

O.K. Thanks... I leave the req fuel and tune the VE...
