Damn LC1 peice of ****
My laptop has no serial ports so i bought an adapter from radio shac, to run my LC1 in to the laptop and configure my feeds etc. But i cannot get the LM proprogramer to recognize the LC1. It keeps on asking me for a com port and i have none all i have is USB. So anybody else ran into this problem yet any solutions. This is realy making me wish i had gone with the AEM despite how ricey there gauge is.

Did you install the drivers on your computer for the serial-->USB converter?
Also, I've noticed that my lc-1 doesn't like it when I switch from logworks to lmprogrammer and back. I have to turn the lc off (turn the ignition switch off) or it won't communicate with my laptop.

ok then also check that you're using the right port on the lc-1 (I don't remember if you're supposed to use "in" or "out") for your computer connection, and the terminator plug thing has to be plugged into the other port. Both miniplugs have to be snapped in TIGHT. And make all the connections before you turn the lc-1 on.
I will have the program loaded on my laptop, and as soon as the lc-1 comes on with the ign switch, it will handshake and begin communications automatically.

hmm i have it on the out feed cause the infeed is to hook in another WB02 for serial loging of multiple sensors. Why would having the in pluged make any diference my guage works. Just not my usb interface to the LC-1. I made it all up with the battery unpluged and then added juice and proceeded to test. Could my PC be to new? I dont even get an icon in my control panel or networks list for the device. It recognizes i pluged in the adapter but not that is has anything on the other end.

It's been a while since I've had to interface my laptop and lc-1, but I want to say that you have to put the terminator plug in the opposite plug that it's normally in (the one that would be empty), then put the serial cable into where the terminator plug normally is.
But I also could be pulling that outta my ***, like I said it's been a while.
Which ever way the connections are, the terminator plug MUST be plugged in, or the LC-1 won't work. If you're not using the terminator plug, then that's absolutely the problem. Snap it in tight, and if it still doesn't work, reverse the connections.
