Long cranking, small backfire

Gents,

I was out at VIR earlier this week. Upon departure, the temps were down near freezing, colder than I have had her out before with the current tune. She seemed to take a long time to spin up, and there was a small pop. I turned off the starter and tried again. She started almost normally.

To start tweaking, I was wondering if the long crank, small backfire meant she was rich or lean at those temps. I was not taking a log at the time--the laptop was still up in the room.

Thanks,

Hopefully you'll get responses from more experience members, but the only time I encountered anything remotely similar to what you're describing was when my battery was weak. Granted I never experienced it starting up right after the backfire.

Problem is, I won't be able to duplicate the weather conditions for several months. I'm just looking for theory. Searching has given me the long cranking means she needs more fuel, but the backfire is unspent fuel somewhere--I could not tell if the "pop" came from the intake or exhaust side--but it was not loud. I've attached my current tune.
Thanks,
