Default 3 Weeks in the making and I am done.

Well I cant believe that I can honestly say that I am done. 2 and a half weeks of building and I am finished. Why it took me so long? Work, gym, family, girlfriend and everything else in between really cut into the progress. But you know what now that I am done I cant believe it. You know, I have yet to plug it into the car, but I feel accomplished either way.

You guys probably have seen this a billion times, but here is mine.

The bundled cables are 4 grounds off the DB37, EBC, AIT, and O2

Gonna plug it in this weekend to test it out, hopefully it will start without an O2 sensor. I have an AIT courtesy of my mechanic.

Btw, whats the required diameter of the MAP tube, I gotta go pick one up.

edit: Id like to thank Braineak, Cjereinean, Savington, Arkmage and everyone else on this forum that put up with my ridiculous over analyzing questions and persistent thread hi jackings. I love you guys

About time you finish up. That is the shortest boomslang i've ever seen. Can't believe you splurged for the black case. Hope it works right off the bat.

Black case FTW... Now you need a warning sticker that says "7000V RF, disconnect power before service"

I actually didnt splurge on it, thats the case that comes with the V3.0 PCB now. If I had the skill I would have told them to keep the case, discount me 10 bucks, and I would have made a custom one out of lexan.

Yea, the boomslang came out a bit toooooo short. I looked in the car, and I thought whats the reason to have a long extension since I just need to tap into the wires. Then I quickly realized that soldering with a longer boomslang would have been much easier, by then it was too late to turn back. One mistake I did make was not making the MS harness long enough, another 5 inches would have been nice.

I really hope to god it works right off the bat, I spent waaaaay to much time double and triple checking everything only to be ground to a halt by a wiring mistake.

IT WORKS.

STARTED ON THE FIRST TRY. WOOOOOOOOOOOO

Ran choppy and woudn't rev, but after talking to Chad we have concluded that its my timing which I haven't set yet. I also spent the rest of the day running the wires into the cabin for 02, AIT, EBC, Ground and MAP. Holy hell that little gromit was tighter then a virgins *******, couldnt get more then 4 wires and the map through it not to mention the mission it was to find it on the other end behind the AC fan. I was doing the routing by myself too.

Now im going to order myself a wideband since I know the MS works.

Btw, are the sill plates in the door jams held on with clips as well as screws or do I need to take that interior peice out next to the seat to get it off the car?

The sill piece comes off and that piece of carpet covering the PCM behind the seat comes right out.

You guys should have seen my mother freaking out yesterday. She thought that I was getting all of this stuff as a joke, never actually using it for anything. First I got the turbo, and she thought nothing of it, then I got the injectors and she thought nothing of it, then the MS. Yesterday I finished the MS and im like, im going to go install it. She freaked out, saying the car was going to explode and why am I doing this to a perfectly good car. She says, im coming with you to the garage. Then she forces my dad to go to the garage with me to watch me put it in. My dad not a noobie to cars but my mom made him take his car out of the garage for fear of something going wrong. I know nothing bad can happen but her nervousness got me nervous, I almost pissed myself after the car started.

Luckily my mechanic came over later in the evening and explained to my mom that the car cant explode and the worst that will happen is that the electrics will short out and nothing will happen.

Thats nice that he supports you. Ill say this much though, im glad my dad didnt say anything negative and just let me do it. He just walked around back and forth and ignored my moms ranting. I think he was pretty shocked to see the car start with the MS though, he didn't think it would work. Otherwise he's pretty old school and things like turbos didn't assist in the USSR when he was working on engines for fun, so I had a great time trying to explain to him how it worked.
