Megasquirt - CANBUS AIM Boost figure

I am now slowly working my way through setting up the Aim Ev4/MXL dash unit.

I would like to have one of the 6 dash gauges give me a boost reading so I can dispense with a single boost gauge, use an alarm for over boost etc.....

MS2_Map gives a figure but not one i can put in to sense in PSI or Bar....does anyone have any experience here?

The AIM dash says it is expecting a 10Hz signal from 0-2000.

I have options of MAP, PSI, PSI .0, PSI.01, InHG, InHG .1, InHG.01 etc....

Post what reading you are getting at idle on both the data logger and your mechanical boost/vacuum gauge and we should be able to figure it out.

Hi, did a track day yesterday with lots issues!

Anyway, Apparently the MS outputs the following..

The raw data for MAP is absolute pressure in kPa x 10. i.e. 871 units = 87.1 kPa
currently 0 psi reads 996 on the dash.

any suggestions on what options I can choose to get psi on the dash?

edit: +10 psi was reading 1700 and i think -20psi was 135 (ish)

If I remember correctly, the AiM doesn't have math channels so that you can convert the vacuum/boost channels to just boost.

Thanks Rev, stink one....

I have the dash working pretty well now with water temp, TPS, Ign Adv, Knock Retard etc.... Boost of 2500 on the dash seems to equate to 14psi on the gauge so I just have to learn that. I guess.

Next up is oil and water pressure to the gauge...reading some previous comments of yours seem to indicate the readings will fluctuate quite badly....did you ever resolve this?

It can't be solved through the dash or the software. You need to build a hardware RC filter. Google RC lowpass filter.
