Default what did i do wrong now

so i just hooked up my megasquirt PnP for the first time.. i followed the directions from here

i get to adjusting the timing. i got the timing light hooked up and going and i dont see any timing mark on my crank so i shut the car off to see if i could see it without the engine running that way i can mark it somehow to make it easier to see..

well i never found the marking but i figured id try with the light again, so i push in the clutch and turn the key and nothing happens, i wait a couple seconds and try again, still nothing. so i take my battery out and throw it on my tester/charger and it says it ok. throw it back in and nothing still.

any idea what the problem might be? and when i mean it does nothing i mean nothing. no door buzzer, no cranking, no radio/dash lights, nothing

Checked fuses.. but it has to be battery related.. I brought it back in and threw it on the charger again and waited 20mins and brought it back to the car and it started right up and I found the timing mark now that its slightly darker outside.. shut the car off after 5 mins and it does nothing again so ill just go pick up a new battery and try that
