MS2 v3.0 Fuel pump for 1.6L
All,
I understand the Fuel pump on the early cars require special care. I am adapting my ms2 from a 97 to a 91. I need to add the fuel pump mod. As I understand it the output from MS is negative and the 1.6L needs a positive connection to drive the fuel pump. The Vtec drawing seems to work well for what we are doing.
I am running standalone and looking to connect the output of the fuel mod to my harness. Do people typically do this through pin 37 of the db37? The schematic of the v3.0 board shows that r16 and d4 connect to FP1 which is pin 37 of the db37.
Is there a better pin to use?
I was thinking of adding this to the MS2 wiki as it currently doesn't have a fuel pump mod. As I see it:
1. connect 12V to TIP125 from S12C
2. Get trigger from MS from the banded end of D4
3. Connect through db37 to pin 1C of the factory harness- This is my question. Should I unsolder the banded end of d4 and R16 to allow me to use fp1 and pin 37 of the db37? Is there a better pin to use?
Does it make sense to put this info on the wiki?
Thanks!

you remove the regular FP output on pin 37 from the harness.
you send the output from the TIP125 to pin 1C on the harness (1O is a typo). This can be done through a spare IAC output or one of the 4 spares.
you MUST remove the ST_SIGN fuse.
Leave D4 in place, you need that circuit to remain as the trigger to activate the TIP125. Basically anytime the MS is trying to ground the fuel pump relay, you are instead activating the TIP125, and then that's backfeeding 12v to the relay and turning it on.
