Megasquirt starting issues... RPM reading 1 cranking
Been at this for days, trying to get my car started off this thing. I have a DIYPNP on the newest firmware and running a base map that I've attempted to configure correctly. When I power up the megasquirt, the RPM reads 0. When I crank the car, it reads 1. Now, I got it to read the correct RPM one time about a week ago. The car started up on the base map with all the sensors working, including RPM. But once I brought it home (on stock ECU) and tried to tune it, it started reading just 1 RPM when I cranked it. I've tried so many different settings, searched the forums trying to find the problem for days. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Probably somewhere in the ignition settings. But I've tried so many. The car runs fine off the stock ECU. 1990.

did you install the 470ohm pull-ups?
Going low? this was a basemap from DIYAUTOTUNE.com? Not only will that prevent it from running, it can damage your coils... |

I tried changing the resistor on R3 to a 1k. Reflashed the firmware, reloaded DIY's basemap, left ignition settings alone except crank angle offset. Nothing changed, reads 1rpm when I crank it. Someone please tell me if my wiring is wrong...

Considering you have nothing attached to 4E... (read into this) very heavily read into this. *Im giving you the answer here*
you also need to go back to re hit everything with solder, you have VERY weak joints that will fail over time. |

oh nevermind i see it now. I still think you need to go back in and redo all teh solder.
look at this: https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...742941c5ee.jpg Look at all the holes in the 5v power circuit. very very very bad connections here. Looking at all your soldering, that's probably your only issue. regardless, you need to set it back to Going HIGH, let the provided basemap was setup for. The only thing you might need to change on that basemap is the req_fuel value. |
