MegasquirtPNP II for 97 or 99
I am planning on installing a turbo 99 engine into my 97 NA. The PO is suggesting that I use a MSII PNP built for 97 instead of one for 99. I am new to turbo and was wondering which way to go and why.
Thanks. |
I'm pretty certain a 97 motor uses a cam position sensor for timing, while the 99 motor uses a crank trigger.

has a different alternator too. If you put a 99 motor in your car just make sure it's using all your 97 sesnors and harness stuff. I think you need to swap the fpr too as 99 is returnless. Yes you want 97 for simplicity sake.

I would use the 99 crank trigger anyday over the crappy cas.
You shouldn't buy a pnp. Have Brain build you a ms3 for you car, he can always modify it later for any year car you want. If you buy a pnp, your stuck for that specific year (and probably similar price). |

No, brain can set it up fully plug and play. PM him and forget about aem's, mspnp's or pnp's with non-standard firmware. Do it properly first time and get a ms3x. Newest firmware even has 99 alternator control.
