MegaSquirtPNP Pro MSM0405 users/owners
 

I am in the market for an upgraded ECU for my 2004 mazdaspeed Miata and before I drop 1200 bucks on an ecu that I haven't heard of anyone using yet. I inquired Brian as per instruction to find that they are nearly sold out, but are not shipping yet?

So I ask of the forums, has anyone ran this MSM ECU or been part of product testing or anything that can help me determine the quality, ease of use, and reliability of the module(and vendor, I see he's been a vendor with miataturbo for quite some time now so I would assume it's not a scam or anything like that, I'm asking more of promptness, support, and documentation issues, etc.)

DIYautotune has done all the testing, and we have no reason to expect anything but the same quality and performance we've received from them for years.

This specific ECU is PNP for the MSM was just announced, so the sold out units are the first batch, which haven't been produced yet. There's a thread on it here that has a expected shipping date I think.

I can't wait to hear some responses or a really good review of one of these units when they finally get into consumers hands. Anyone know anybody on here that got in on the first batch?

although this particular unit is not in use we do have a few members running MSPro's on this forum. I am sure they can chime in to the quality of the ECU. As has been previously stated though, DIYAutotune have been providing excellent products and customer service to the miata community for a long long time and there is no reason to expect this to be any different.

I do not believe that any of the test cars used for development of the MSPNP-Pro PNP for NB2 belonged to members on this forum. This platform was tested for nearly 2 years, substantially on my own car. I autocrossed that car for the first time with a MegaSquirt this weekend, and it felt incredible. It was so much smoother and consistent when getting in and out of throttle, makes more power, and makes better use of the gearing with the higher rev limiter. The launch control works great, too.

They're now listed for sale on our website and as of right now, can still ship within a day or 2 of ordering. Once we get past initial demand and the supply line settles down, they will become normally stocked items.

As far as addressing your concerns on support needs, you can answer those questions yourself via searching this forum and google.

I got in on the first batch!

I recently picked up a 2004 msm and wasn't impressed.

After installed the ms3 with the msm tune from DIY this car is COMPLETELY different. Lots more torque and earlier on the bottom end. The revs are super super smooth all the way up to 7k. It's so smooth it could pass for normally aspirated! The car is a complete joy to drive around now. I can actually throttle steer and drift through turns now. In stock form the turbo was like an on and off switch that turned on just before the limiter. The MS3 changed all that. I just can't believe how much good engine management makes! If the msm's came like this they would have sold tons more!

Check out my dyno sheet. The car is completely stock. The only change was the MS3.

foursevens actually got the FIRST production MSPNP-Pro for the MSM. :)

Strange that the Dyno sheet is the same one posted by Ben in the original thread previously for the new product:

So I'm curious, who is this newbie and how did he get ahold of DIYtunings original Dyno sheet?

Because he/David is the owner of the car DIY used to finalize the tune for the production units.

Coincidentally, I have that very car in my garage right now. I also drove the car home when David initially bought it a few months ago and it felt barely faster than my '02. It drives like a completely different car now.

It does take a few extra cranks to start and sometimes the idle hunts for a few seconds before stabilizing.

LOL because that was his car on the dyno, and I sent him a cell phone pic at the time. foursevens' MSM was just absolutely bone stock, so we tuned it and used it for a basemap.

The post looked strange. If he had said in the post the car he had was the test one it would be easier understand.
Thought that was the point of a forum to look for answers and maybe help out someone, not get a bunch of crap from Stuper Moderators ( oops maybe spelled wrong) or others who are so self indulged that their whole purpose is to bash people for a laugh.

I'm a little confused (or stuperid), should I file this under "staff abuse", or "insults to members" There's so many ways to ban you, I have trouble picking just one.
