method to test boost control
I spent a bit of time setting up EBC on my DIYPNP today using the DIYAutotune solenoid.
Short story - It's not working. After having a bit of a play with it I figure it must be the boost control transistor or a faulty solenoid. Is there some way I can test these? I don't have an oscilloscope but I could probably borrow one if it was really necessary. Hardware setup: Plumbed as per DIYAutotune instructions for internal wastegate. 12v source from the blue plug in the engine bay other wire running to the OUT pin of the boost control on the DIYPNP via a pin in one of the spare connectors ('89 model with N76 DIYPNP). IN pin of the boost control connected to PA0 on the 18pin header Tuner Studio setup: Boost control enabled Boost control pin = PA0 Have tried frequencies 19.5hz and 39hz set up for open loop, started with 0% duty and worked up to 100% in steps of 10, boost has stayed the same with all settings, logs show that the boost duty cycle is changing as expected overboost fuel cut at 200kPa |
Should be able to test the solenoid by simply applying 12 volts and listening for a click. You could also scope the output pin to confirm what you're seeing in the log.
