Hi guys i was wondering if anyone had a map or knows where i could find a map similar to my setup so i could get her to the tuner.

Mahle pistons
Eagle rods
Acl race bearings
ARP main bolt
ARP head bolts
new water pump
boundary engineering oil pump
bronze valve guides
Bored&honed
crank balanced

and a BEGI S4 kit with a GT2860
550cc injectors

It was my experience that the base miata map is significantly rich esp. north of 80kpa . (10.2-13.5 AFR) with crazy amounts of timing pulled above 5k rpms.

get it running, buy the upgraded tunerstudio (live VE map autotune) and work into it.

( I literally JUST did this, and had no issues. the base map actually worked really well for me with cold starts, and cold idle)

NO....I WILL NOT BE A MAN Braineack......... lol but the real reason is i dont have enough experience and i need the car on a day to day basis

Have you searched yet? Or are you saying you do not know what to search for?

You should be able to pull up numerous threads on injector settings, spark tables and AFR targets to use for a boosted 1.8L running 550cc injectors.

i have not and thank you for subjects to search i am very new to tuning and didnt even know where to start

im most likely going to get it tuned by a reputable tuner in long beach on a dynomax. but i still need to get it up there and i still need want to learn whats going on and how to do it myself

Does the tunerstudio help that much? I guess i dont fully understand what all it does it seems like it does the tuning for you? Also does it work for boosted pulls or just everyday driving? And your engine is a similiar setup to mine?

Sorry for all the questions but im trying to get everything straight lol.

It will trim fuel tables while you drive, let's you set afr targets etc. just plug in a laptop and drive with it.

If your going to a shop to get a tune, it will likely be more than enough. The base map pulls so much timing at 5k, the car falls on its face. If you want though, manually edit the fuel tables. You can set 110kpa to some stupid rich number like 10.2afr, and interpolate that all the way down... Then drive it to the shop.

If you stay out of boost, the car will have no special requirements, other than trimming for the big injectors. I'm getting 11psi right now, but, didnt bother to build this motor ( I'm not planning on it living long, so I'm starting a motor for next spring)

If you have not already, read through the MSPNP manual. It gives you a basic idea of what the MSPNP controls, what settings you can leave alone for now, and what settings you need to tune to get you on the road. MegaSquirtPNP by DIYAutoTune.com

If you're more ambitious, and you should be, because you will want to know that your tuner knows what he's doing, you will want to read into the general megamanual as well. It may be Chinese to you, and that's ok, since you may at least recognize some of the terms and be able to look them up quicker in the future.

buying tunerstudio is the best piece of software I've ever purchased. Considering how much people charge to tune a car, which you will find out once you bring a basemapped car to a tuner, your investment in Tunerstudio just for the VE Analyze alone is worth the money. Have it running while you drive around and you'll thank everyone here who has recommended it. It'll give you piece of mind, plus considering the amount of money you've spent on your built engine, investing in Tunerstudio would be like spending pennies

Also, learning how your car works while you use the autotune function, will help you know if your tuner knows his stuff. Or at least get an idea of what he's doing so you're not paying a minimum 150 bucks just for him to put the car on and didle around with your car, then charge you another 500 to do something you could have easily done with a simple press of a button on your laptop. Get it set with autotune, then send it to a tuner so he can work on the hard stuff and not have to waste time with the fuel map

It can be dangerous. You still need to watch and understand everything that is going on. I suggest that you visit Here and read the complete Megasquirt MegaManual. Start with MS1 and read till you have finished all the MS3 stuff. It will go over everything you could ever possibly want to know about Megasquirt and tuning the car.
