Default From parallel to standalone - what to change inside the MS?

Hi,

as I will be trying to go from parallel to standalone in the near future:
Waht will I have to change inside the MS (I got a 3.57 board so any input on a V3 board would be sufficient)?

I know I deleted the R7 (which I will have to put back in (pita with the SMD parts) - to get a correct temp reading.

Anything else?

Thanks for the advice.

you need the idle control mod and add r7 and r4 back if you've removed them. thats it.

Probably need a tacho driver circuit built too

That is the good thing on a 3.57 board - you don't need a mod for idle- the fidle output is strong enough to handle the ilde valve.

Yes I need a tacho mod, a fan output, alternator circuit.

what type of transistors does the 3.57 use? you coudl just turn the middle LED to output 4 which can drive fan control. That's what I do with my builds.

it uses a 3094 transistor. you should be able to use the middle LED for fan control without problems.

I'm using the middle led as tacho out (with some minor modifications to the board).

As the V3.57 boards already have the 1K pullup, it's even easier.
Just connect R59 to 12V instead of VCC and Pad 2 will be your tacho out. The transistor is rated at 200mA, so should be more than adequate. As a precaution, it might be good to remove R25 or the LED.
I've never tested if 5V is enough to drive the tacho. Probably not, but if it is, you don't need to do anything but hook the tacho up to Pad 2.

Hmm, thinking about it, it might be a better idea to use the middle led for the fan. That way you don't have to do anything to the board. You need an extra circuit anyway, so might as well make it for the tacho.
