I'm going to drop about $500 to get my 1991 w/99 motor tuned. Is it really worth running the tps for boost and over-run?

I got to thinking that it might be really nice to not have all that torque slam me in the *** under maintenance throttle over a crest into a tightening corner.

With as much time and money as you've put in and will be putting into your car wouldn't you want your car to operate the best as it possibly can? I say it's worth it. Do it once do it right.
I'm sure somone might say it's not worth it but why would so many people be doing it if it wasn't worth while.

You definately want a linear TPS. The mod is easy enough that you can do it yourself.

I was going to replace my MS sensor with the map daddy but for the money I think i'll just get a GM map sensor from the junkyard and hook it up for baro.

I've never successfully soldered anything on a circuit board, and really don't want to **** with disaster.

I assume its easier to get enrichments and overrun done correctly...right?

You need the baro MAP sensor to be exactly the same as your primary MAP sensor. Otherwise you will spend some "nice time" trying to relate tables from different sensors (it can be done but good luck none the less).

Thanks for the heads up. I guess the manual just say that loud and clear. I hadn't researched the option when posting, suppose I'll most likely be looking into the mapdaddy.

if you want TPS based enrichments, a liner TPS is FAR better.

However Overrun? I'd use either TPS , 'or' MAP, I tried to use a combination of the pair, and it cause all sorts of drivability probs, I just couldn't get it nailed.

now I just use MAP radings and it's far smoother, (tho I'll admit not perfect unfortunatly :()

I wonder if its worth it for the logistics involved with shipping. Hell, I can set up tps boost after I get it tuned...so I seems like I minus whale just run without the mods.

If you're going to the dyno, that's the best place to set up boost control incl throttle based boost. Plus, is your **** going to have A/C? IMO, TPS is a MUST have for A/C. Ask Ben-Atl93LE if you don't believe me.

I wouldn't want to change the map sensor after paying to have the car dyno tuned either. It *shouldn't* matter, but it might. No need to tune the car twice.

Do the TPS mod now, and if you want do the MAP sensor mod now too. Since you have a built motor and could run high boost, I'd go ahead and do it too. The 2.5 bar sensor is only good for like 21 psi over atmo, and your set up is capable of a bit more.

I haven't touched my enrichments at all (ever).

which enrichments? AE enrichments? I got tip in knock with stock AE settings after adding my charger?!?

Maybe Jerry (foundsoul) tweaked my AE settings when we were at the dyno? I've never touched them.

I could use some tweaking with the cold start enrichments to make the car a little happier in the first 20-30 seconds after a cold start. Right now the car will start and idle as long as I don't touch the throttle for about 30 seconds. My WB shows super lean if I do touch the throttle, and it stalls the car. It's not a big deal for me, I always let the car idle for a couple minutes from a cold start anyway.

you can run just fine with out them over run pulls most if not all the fuel at a predetermined map value for engine braking economy etc. If it is set to high you will get surging to low and it will give you little to no benefit as you are still pumping a bunch of fuel. If i had the $ and the time to send it in and back i would upgrade for sure. I have been thinking of sending my stuff off to chad to get the timming, and maybe a boost control setup on mine. Either that or Jerry wich ever would be happier to help me.
