MS-II - fried coil

Apparently I fried a coil. No spark from the left pack. Spark (zapped me real good) from the right pack.

I didn't do any firmware flashes while connected to the car, the only thing I can think of was updating the thermistor table with it connected. I didn't think that was the same, but it seems like the issue.

Anyone able to confirm this as the source of my stupidity, or did I somehow manage to blow a coil while just trying to get the damn starting stuff right?

I'm so tempted to pull the trigger on the Toyota COP, but I really don't want to do two projects at once.

You can't even call installing COPS a project. That was the only project I could do by myself and my car is running fine. I couldn't believe how simple it was! I say do it; you won't regret it.

Yea do COPs man, especially if your other option is to buy another coil pack for $$$. Crap like this is why I'm scared as hell to do ignition on my MS II. It seems like EVERYONE burns up a coil pack for some stupid reason, no matter what per precautions are taken.

did the one pack work at any point or did it give before you started cranking the very first time around...mine kept dying before i even had a chance to get it running...

it had been working at some point, i gave up for a few days, reconnected the stock ecu and drove around a bit. after that i got to this point with both the MS and the OE where it catches, goes up to about 1k, then dies. apparently you need more than two cylinders firing to get these things running :)
