AFM pins

AFM pins
I've got a 1.6 + DIYPNP that I'm currently setting up.
I'm deleting the AFM and I was wondering if the other pins on this plug can be used to get other signals in/out of the ECU?
Specifically I'm thinking of feeding the INJ3 and INJ4 via this plug but otherwise it might be useful for knock sensor or boost control.

Well, you could always use it to feed in IAT, as the stock sensor was inside the AFM housing. It's also one of several spots where you can turn on the fuel pump by providing a closure to ground.
It'd be a tad concerned about carrying injector current over these lines. My recollection is that they wren't very heavy gauge, and they're quite long.

To be clear: If someone decides for whatever reason to transplant, say, a stock '99 ECU into their 1.6 car, then by all means I would support the use of the MAF sensor from the '99. But in an environment where you're already using a ECU which was designed principally to run in speed-density (MAP) mode, I cannot see the logic in wanting to use a MAF sensor with it, regardless of who the MAF sensor was made by or what vehicles it was originally installed in.
Perhaps I'm missing something here.
Why would you want to use a MAF sensor of any kind, as opposed to not using a MAF sensor at all?
