MS PnP 90/93 modded with VTPS won´t start
I already posted thsi on m.net but it seems nobody ever before had this problem:
Hi, got a little problem out there. My car (see it as a 90-93) had a complete engine rebuild during some months til now. Until restart, I did the VTPS mod to the MS meanwhile. Now back on and all together again the car doesn´t start at all. The fuel pump doesn´t start and the engine therefore doesn´t fire up. I already wrote Matt at DIY AT and he told me to disconnect the normal TPS which is fitted. I did and nothing happend. I bridged GND and F/P on the diagnostics connector under the hood, the fuel pump permanently runs (and delivers fuel to the rail), but the car doesn´t start. The car is fitted with a LC-1 (which I ran together with the unmodified MS PNP before the rebuild) and NO OEM O2. Is there something I forgot?? I tried to start with a 90`s ECU (with AFM) which I have, but the same. I also connected the 10A fuse under the hood, which is necessary for the OEM ECU (which has to be removed when using the MS PNP). I have a Fuji ITB Kit lying around which should be installed when the car has proved for 1000mls that it´s all ok with the engine. Would be glad for help It makes me sad. My laptop has connection to the MS, so that thing is working. I tested the MS with removed AFM and stock ECU with AFM. |
Would calibrating the TPS have anything to do with it?
|
Hmm, there is no TPS. I disconnected it.
The starting try with the stock ECU has been done with the stock TPS. |
Sounds like perhaps a no spark situation, does the MS show RPM on your laptop? Have you checked for spark?
|
MS shows RPM, but (as I found out today) only 1 and 4 have spark.
|
Bad ignitor?
|
did you update the firmware to delete the AFM with the ignitor plugged???
|
Think we got it.
Got the message today that Q5 on the daughterboard was dead. So it seems I forgot the fuse in the fuse box under the hood...:noob: I did a firmware update, but with the ignitor plugged off. For security I already changed the coils and will do this to the ignitor, too. For cases like these, I´ve got them things lying around. |
Got it.
I killed the transistor Q5. Updated firmware aaaaaand "vroom" ;) Thanks everybody! |
