MS Wiring

Ok, im not 100% clear on this.

When you start wiring the MS to your car's sensors to do things, do you disconnect the wire going to the stock ecu, then connect it to the MS, or do you just tap into to the line and connect to the MS.

Say i was just going to run Fuel first, no spark, what wires would i hook up?

Im kind of confused about being able to have the stock ECU and the MS both hooked up at the same time, like Adam's setup allows.

Any help clearing this up for me?

You can tap into the lines if you are leaving the oem ECU in. Or get a plug and make your own harness that allows the MS to directly plug into the cars wiring harness.

if you tap into the lines, how do you get the stock ecu out of the look, how do you make it not control the injectors for instance.. Do you completely disconnect just the injector harness from the stock ecu and have it only connected to the MS?

share inputs... replace outputs. you should be able to reuse all of the OEM harness outputs to connect to MS. cut the OEM wire for inj1, for example, and hook Ms inj1 to the injector side.

ok, i got it.. so if i put push plugs on the outputs.. and made it where they could easily be move back and forth from the MS, to the Stock ECU, then thats all i would need to do to go back to full stock?

Al Hounos 01-27-2007 12:43 PM

yep, that's a good idea. i had to do that for spark.

how many outputs are there? im lookin at maybe makin a relay board, or hookin up a multi pole switch...

Mouglie 01-28-2007 12:16 AM

i don't think relay boards are for us miata drivers, but i could be wrong. What i understand from reading the description is that the relay board is meant for muscle cars that don't have all the gadgets (sensors and ecu) our cars have already...
