Default Lost laptop signal from ECU, now car won't start

Hi guys,

I was driving with the laptop plugged in via serial cable to my MSPNP. Everything was fine until I set the rev limiter to a different figure (6800rpm) and tested it by revving into it three times.

After I did this, all the gauges in Megatune stopped displaying a signal, but the car continued to drive as normal. I pulled over, and checked the serial cable hadn't come loose, then I tried to restart the car but it won't start now.

1) No readings in Megatune
2) Engine turns over, but I don't think the fuel and spark is working.

I really hope the ECU isn't dead, but that's what I'm leaning towards. Has anyone any ideas?

Sounds like you may have just corrupted the firmware. A pain in the ***, but perhaps not a fatal problem.

First test would be to see if you can re-flash the ECU with new code.

OK I just ran the downloadfirmare batch file and it gets to the part where it reads "this should copy around 1700 lines" but it doesn't try to copy anything. It just hangs at that point.

Also something to note is that the fuel pump sounds like its priming constantly.
