Default 64 bit Vista compatible US-serial adapter?

I have been looking for a USB-serial adapter since Braineack is finishing up my MS, but all the adapters I see say 32 bit Vista only. Does anyone have any success using a particular model with 64 bit Vista? I have an old laptop with XP, but it has to run on AC power, and often overheats. I'd much prefer using my new Dell studio to work with the car.

Not if I can help it. I'm sure there are compatible adapters out there, I just didn't see any at Newegg or the other 3 websites I looked through.

The price of this one sucks, but I've never had issues with it:

Gigaware® 6-ft. USB-A to Serial Cable - RadioShack.com

I've run it through Vista when flashing a few units, not sure if it's 32 or 64-bit, I guess I can check.

The 6-ft reach is also a plus.
