MS1 spark is gone ???
listers,
After building my own MS1 with LC-1 and AFM delete in preperation of a turbo the car ran fine, i just started to do some small logs and wanted to do some more extensive logging. I then read the improved spark output driver circuit update by joe, well this was a great update and i bought the necesary products. Started soldering and had everything the way it should be. Car started right up without the nasty burble but after running 2 / 3 minutes it just died........ started it and ran fine............ for 2 / 3 minutes (spark inverted to yes). So today i soldered the original wiring in again, started the car and now it doesn't want to start at all. I traced it back to the spark output (sparkplug to ground no spark, pnp spark yes), switched it for a local PNP and that fired right up. Do any of you know what to do ?? what should be checked? what should i do? Thanks in advance! tony |

hello Braineack,
Yes you are correct, i needed the car today so i soldered the joe wiring out changed the spark inverted to no, and soldered the normal mod in again. I even tried two times with different resistors but no luck. |
but if it worked, then why did you go back? you musta' reverted incorrectly, pics help.

well that is just the problem the mod worked but it didn't, car started but died 2 minutes later this just repeats when you start the car again.
I bought new npn transistors wired it up a second time and then the car wouldn't start up anymore, i then wired it up for the situation before the mod but it won't start. The only thing i can think of is that i desoldered something, so i got my multimeter and probed the wires and everything in the area i could have touched. But i cannot discover anything... MS1 is back to normal so a picture wouldn't help would it ?? |
