MS1 V3 First Start, it runs! Some Qs though...

So some way, some how, I got the car to start up and run on the standalone MS. It seems like magic somehow that it actually is working only only the 3rd try cranking (forgot the MAP hose first, then forgot to jump the FP).

So, i let it warm up but it still idles at 3k rpms. I'm re-reading the MSNSe manual for the 3rd time, will likely read it a couple more after this. How do I get this idle down?

Also, I took a couple of logs but now I cannot find them because windows vista didn't want to let me save them where I specified. I am really developing a strong loathing for windows vista.

Anyone care to take a look at my MSQ and see where i'm way off point?
Running HR code.

Your idle settings look kinda funky. Where'd you get them?

These are for my 1.8, but they work fine on a 1.8 with a 1.6 throttle body so they are worth a try.

Idle valve frequency: 26
Cranking DC: 12
Minimum DC: 8
Closed DC: 10

First, you've got your idle in open-loop mode. See how your says "Warmup Only" at the top?

Ok, moving along, your idle duty lower temp is 12, and upper is 40. That's backwards. It means that idle is going to increase as the engine warms up. And that 40 is just outrageous. Normal idle on a 1.6 is 22-23. That's why you're idling at 3k when warm.

Here's what my idle settings look like, for comparison:

FWIW, you've got the frequency correct for a 1.6. But try changing your idle screens to look like mine and see what that gets you.

I went out today to try these settings and my MS isn't working. Nothing changed, just been sitting in the car for 2 days. It used to do this intermittently when plugging it into the stim. Just get the middle led lit and nothing else.

I think i'm going to go search around the MS forum and see if I can find what might be causing this. I dont even know where to start troubleshooting this at this point.

Edit: and it figures that as soon as I posted this it came online again for no reason.

Is there any reason to suspect that being cold might have something to do with this? It seems like it just needs to "warm up" or something and its really cold outside right now.

K, just warmed up the car again with JP's new settings. Still wants to idle at 3k when warm. New MSQ and datalog...

Also, I tried Sav's settings as well for the fuck of it and nothing seemed to change at all. I think there may be a problem somewhere aside from the idle settings but I dont know what.

So I played with the trigger angle and got the idle down to 1100 rpm. Although, to get it down that low I adjusted the trigger angle way out of what it should be. (set it to 75 and had the drop down menu at +45 or whatever it is)

Its snowing out now so I'm going to have to wait til tomorrow to bust out the timing light and finish figuring out wtf i think i'm doing.

Today I set my timing appropriately and the idle is still staying high. I'm really unsure of where to look beyond this. I've tried lots of different PWM settings and nothing makes any sort of change at all. Also, the idle screw on the throttle body is as low as it will go (was already like this with the stock ecu).

On a more positive note, all the other things people commonly seem to have problems with (fans, WB02 etc) all seem to work just fine for me aside from a couple of resets.

Here are my latest log and MSQ. Anyone have any kind of idea what could be causing this?
