Default Trying to get the Idle dialed in on a MS2 2000 PNP Miata

Alright I am trying to get my idle dialed in now that I can have the IAC connected and I am running into a few small issues.

Here is the current MSQ:
http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/6/...7_17.03.26.msq

Basically I have to hold the pedal down until the car is warmed up then the idle seems to be fine where I set it at about 850.

I have been playing around with getting the cold start and warm up tables dialed in but I feel like I am making things worse honestly.

So would someone mind taking a look and telling me where I am making my mistakes that are probably... well easy mistakes?

Thanks!

Can you please upload your .msq and datalog directly to this site? I don't trust 3rd party file hosting sites, and would prefer not to deal with whatever hoops they want me to jump through (watch ads, wait 60 seconds before download, etc).

Sure let me do that right now.

Could I maybe email it to you, I found the attachments section but I can not find an upload option.

Brain thats the guide I was looking through when tuning before asking this question.

If you let me know your email Ben I will send it to you gladly.
(Although I just cheated and DL my own file it did not redirect me or ask for a caption or anything else it just dl'd)

On another note I played with it today and got the idle much closer as the car is not just dumping fuel anymore but I think I went about it the wrong way.
However I was not getting any input and having to heel toe at every light was really pissing me off.

I changed my warm up map with the car running until I got a vehicle that ran correctly.

However part of me is worried that since the side effects have been that I need to redo my entire map that the original problem will now return since I have altered things to this effect which means I need to either

A) Find the correct way to handle this issue

or

B) NM that idea will not work. I was going to say adjust the Warmup Enrichment so that it dips down like it seems to have needed and then comes back to 100% so the VE is not discue after the car warms up.
That will not work because the car will still be very lean during warm up accel.

Currently my VE Current % numbers do not match my Fuel Load %. Plus I do not see anyone else's map doing this for warm up...

So again I am doing something wrong and I am sure it has something to do with an easy fix I am just over looking.
So I would really appreciate the help ironing this out now that I finally got the IAC working correctly.

Thanks.

Old Warmup Enrichment:

New Warmup Enrichment:

----UPDATE----

The more I think about this logically since the whole VE table is now adjusted because of this map plot I have to be wrong. So I changed things again to this and reloaded an older VE map that I will re-tweak today. (It was close but I had just turned off EGO correction yesterday to get it 100% dialed in before turning EGO correction back on and tuning its settings)

My new Warmup Enrichment Map:

The fact that you need so much little warmup suggests there's another issue. Is you VE table tuned at all?

Very much so, atleast to me. I had it pretty much 98% dead on and was taking it the extra mile to turn off EGO correction and tune it to ensure it was 100% perfect.

I have the past 2 days been playing with my AFR table a little just to setup for max power as well, but before that the table had not changed since the original IAC issue and tuning of the car which has been about a month or more I think.

I will have to wait for tomorrow for another cold morning and cold start/warm up to give it another run with the new table but it just seems to run to rich and stall out in the mornings which was why I started asking questions about it in the first place.

I'm running more like your first map (124% @ 32F, 108% at 90F, 100% at 180F) and the car runs great.

What are you doing with your afterstart enrichment % (ASE)?

and I assume your idle control provides increased idle speed below "warm" temperature?

I will upload the latest version but with the EGO control back on as I have it off while I am finishing the tune and getting ready to switch to E85 this weekend.

y8s... I have to look through tuner studio because honestly... I don't remember.
I did play with the Cold Advance today, seems a little better but I'm still playing with it.

Here is my newest MSQ. I changed a lot in regards to the idle, I hope now I have it nailed down. We shall see I am going to watch a movie then go out and see how the car starts when cold... crossing fingers.
