MS2 boost control settings

Hi,

I am in the process of setting up my boost control - but I have some questions.

I have a acceptable base duty table now, but I am somewhta surprised about the values I get in the cells after I reach my boost goal of 10 PSI.
Looks like this (not dialed in after 5000 rpm, just a guess there)

Now the MS2 has some different boost settings menu than the MS1, looks for me like this:

Do I have to change Closed Duty and Open Duty? I didn't find a logical explanation what that does in the manual.

Or should I just leave the settings as are and try to do some more runs?

Thanks
Greets

Sven

SOme valves are closed when no power is applied, and open when you energize them. Others are normally open, and close when you energize them. You can easily tell which yours is by blowing through it with your mouth. If you cannot pass air through the valve when it is turned off, then that valve should be set as Closed 0%, open 100%. (meaning that when no electrical power is applied, the valve is closed, and when full power is applied, the valve is open.)

Note that it may be possible for the valve to become fully open at less than 100% duty cycle. In this case, you could enter a smaller number. This is difficult to determine however, so most folks just stay with 100%.

Thanks Joe - it's the standard GM boost solenoid.

I did some more runs this afternoon and got a neat boost curve. 10 PSI at 2900 rpm and nearly flat to 5500 at the moment (didn't find a long enough straight road to do good 4th gear runs) - and I found out that maybe I should be careful now, when the street is wet. Holy sh.. - what a difference.

Boost solenoid tickering at idle?

Hi,

I noticed, that my boost solenoid is tickering the whole time, even at idle. Is this normal? I thought it should just stay shut until it reaches the switching point, where it goes under 100%...? (I don't know if it stays tickering all the time till switching, but I know it's doing it at idle and low rpm...)

Thanks

Sven
