MS2 Boost duty reducing boost below Spring Pressure
HI from the (actually sunny today) UK. Sorry this is my first post but I am here for your experience and wisdom and all that stuff cos I'm confused.
MS2 If I run full duty cycle either normal or inverted then max boost is wastegate pressure! Basically if I pull the pipe to the wastegate it is the same as having 100 duty. To combat this I have a 23psi spring in there for the moment and I am happy with that but want to get the boost control working again so I can try to claw back some boost lower down. Fully aware I won't get much on a 20G with 8CM but anyway I'd like it to work! It used to work, and I do not remember changing anything. I have screen shot where I am on 100 on duty and where I put 20 so you can see that is does most definitely reduce boost. This is not what I expect or what it used to do, which was work normally by holding actuator so that any duty showed a boost increase. I have put on a new Actuator and Boost Solenoid to rule them out. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...f779392db5.png 100 duty, if I posted with the actuator pipe disconnected it would be the same https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...6d1821336b.png Here I was playing with duty. you can see what 20duty at 5500rpm does. What have I messed up? In all my dicking about with cars for ever and evers this is a first for me so probably stupidly simple :) |
Attach a log and tune, so we can rule out any software issues. Have you tested the solenoid in test mode to make sure it's wired and functioning?

I will try to upload shortly. |
Sat here trying to run through this in my head...I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be able to get the actuator to run less than spring rate. I mean the way its running I could put a 30psi spring in and use the duty to bring boost DOWN to 23psi 🤔😄

Open loop btw
