They are doing something wrong. There are so many things wrong with that statement its just silly.

What 550's are you running? If they are the oldschool RX7 550cc EV1 squirtguns you are a bit behind the curve, but they should be OK provided they are not clogged up or otherwise mechanically fubar.

Post the tune and a datalog of an attempt to start. What is your wideband telling you? What have you tried so far? We can't help you without more data

...and a better description of what the actual problem is.

I didn't try to tune the car myself, I just put it together with my old 440s and took it over there to dyno tune.
One of the injectors was bad so I just left the car there and ordered 550s from begi I don't know the name but they are brand new and not the RCs

These guys?

550 cc Injectors Mazda Miata

Because those are EV14s and you should have NO PROBLEM running those on an MS. We have guys running 1000cc injectors on these cars with better idle than factory.

Other than the injectors, exactly what all else has changed?

Are the guys at York familiar with the Megasquirt?

I am no tuner so take this with a grain of salt: If your car was running BEFORE the injector swap, you SHOULD be able to adjust your req fuel for the larger injectors and then adjust the latency/dead time/battery offset table (I forget what MS calls it) for the superfast EV14 injectors and things should at least attempt to start.

Need more dataz.

I'm not sure which injectors they are I just had begi send them to the shop, begi recommended 550s so that's what I ordered.

The car was the old fm2 setup with the link piggy back it over boosted on me so I rebuilt it with rods and the .040 9.0 pistons and got the megasquirt on here and the new 550s now.

York was recommended on here and they say they do a lot of spec Miata tuning. But now that he said I need a adjustable regulator I'm kind of worried because that's old school trickery that from what I understand you eliminate with a standalone Ecu.

BEGI offers 2 different 550cc injectors on their site:

1. 550 cc Injectors Mazda Miata = $329 EV14 550cc

2. RC 550 cc Injectors - High Impedance = $98 EV1 550cc

If 1: Do what I said before: req fuel + latency adjustment & autotune your fuel

If 2: Adjust your req fuel & autotune your fuel trim

(EV1 are 1970's squirtgun technology, EV14 are sexified Bosch 2000's technology.)

Also: SpecMiata != Turbo Miata. The only thing that they share is the platform.

You are correct, you should not need a FPR on an NB running a Megasquirt. You may be forced to try to idle at 13:1 with those injectors, but it should still run. Tell them to try harder and make sure they are not learning how to tune a Megasquirt on your dime.

It all got blown out of proportion I think his ego got to him and I have to take the car somewhere else. Like you said im not gonna risk my car to domeones ego. I guess the injectors are the ev14s I did pay 330 for them.

Can anyone recommend someone that can help me with this?

It sounds like there is something else or something more going on. I've heard a lot of good about Ed York / York Automotive in the past.

Does the engine idle on the stock injectors?

It i never ran it on the stock ones I did idle on the 440 but it was rich and one of them was clogged.

Personally I have nothing bad to say about any of them they all seamed like nice knowledgeable people but when he told me it needed a fpr to run I thought about it and posted on here and also called begi. Stephanie from begi called him to explain that you can't run a fpr with out a external fuel pump and to tell him what to do in the settings he got pissed and called me and said I can do it with the fpr like I have done on a number of miatas or you can take it somewhere else. I chose option two I guess whoever took a turbo Miata to him had it running and smoothed the maps out and I guess on a spec car you don't deal with injectors.

I didn't wanna do any demage to my engine so I decided to have someone that knows set up the ecu and tune it, I trailered it to him, I drove it on and off the trailer on the factory Ecu.

This issue is simple...you just need to adjust your required fuel. Factory if I remember correct should be 13.2 and the injectors should be 240cc's. Now do the math and change the required fuel for 550's. I think for my 460's I was using 6.9? It's been years, so I might be wrong.

I haven't touched any settings in the pc I figured a shop that knows megasquirt can but I guess not.
How or where can I come up with these numbers?
Or if you can help me with this I don't mind paying you for your time
I'm honestly clueless when it comes to programming.

I picked up the car and took it home they installed the wideband but I didn't have a chance to check if he connected the signal wire to the ms.
When I took the car to him I told him I wasn't sure if I should run any boost on the fresh build so I turned the mbc all the way down, he didn't touch it and tried to tune it like that.
I also asked him to make sure the timing was at 10* he said he did but I don't think so.
