MS2 Extra - inputs input wanted / EGT?

Hi,

with my engine rebuild I got a EGT sensor installed into the exhaust manifold.

Now I want to log the EGTs with Megatune/MLV. At the moment it looks like I am out of useable inputs.

This is what my pinout looks like:

(yellow is how I used my in-/outputs)

Would you - use JS4 and leave the barometric correction alone (which is switched of anyway, due to the bad experiences here with the baro correction)?

Do I need other inputs than that - did I miss something?

I guess the EGT circuit as shown at the MS1 Extra manuals should work also with the MS2 Extra?

Thanks, Greets

Yup. Gotta use either JS4 or JS5, meaning you can give up either knock or constant baro.

I want to keep knock - just got myself a KnocksenseMS (as long as there is nothing more precise on the market)

So baro has to go...

Thanks!

No first-hand experience with either of the above, but I can tell you from experience that the KSMS leaves something to be desired in terms of sensitivity vs. false indication.

There is one other option, but it's going to take a lot of homebrew hardware right now - if you have a second chip with ADC converters, you can get it to talk to the MS over the CANBus and bring in up to 8 extra analog inputs.

@Matt - as I just need 1 more input (or really jsut have to remove the baro correction) I will not need 8 more inputs. But thanks.

@Joe, I am waiting for the "Knock Detection with variable sensitivity over RPM" which is in development for quite a while now at msextra.com in the section Expansion boards. It should even be possible to use the OEM Miata NB knock sensor.
For now the KnocksenseMS has to do...
