MS2/extra on swapped '96 NA msq needed
Hi,
I've just finished plugging Ms2/extra to my '96 NA miata with 1.8 swapped from another (sensors still from 90hp 1.6 miata). I was able to start it yesterday but it runs bad. I smell gas after 30 secs of running and idle is not smooth at all. Can someone provide me with a base MSQ file I could use to fine tune? My miata does not work on 4g63 settings, however it runs pretty fine on CAS 4/1. Is that wrong? KS |
Not sure if you can use mine or not as I am running a DIYPNP (Microsquirt) in my '90 with a '96 motor.

if it doesn't run on 4G63, you're doing it wrong.

Are you sure? It shows RPM perfectly on CAS 4/1. Actually mods are exactly the same for both. Remember, I have a sensor from 90hp '96 1.6 Euro version.

No problem, I am glad that it worked for you. I still need to work on some of the settings as my car idles at 1400, and I am not sure if it is a vacuum leak or something else.

Take a look at your PWM closed Loop Idle Targets. and if they look good, increase your Integral Gain % until you can reach said target.
|
I've noticed the same. As the car warms up it idles higher than when its cold so its definatelly not a leak. Mine idles at 1400 when its warmed up.

then you probably need to reverse the polarity on your idle valve settings.

OK. I will let you know if it helped. What about CAS? For some reason it works perfectly well (well maybe some jumps from time to time) on 4/1 and I get no tach reading on 4g63. The wiring is exactly the same for both so I dont believe its a MS hardware problem.
Testing on jimstim 4g63 seems weird as to get RPM I need to unplug second trigger and plug it again - then it I'm getting RPM and I can adjust it by pots. 4/1 seems to work without any problem on jimstim. |
