MS2 Wont Idle or Rev over 1K
4 Attachment(s)
MX5 (Eunos) 1.6 1990
Hi Guys I have a MS2 with the DB37 connector, I'm struggling to get it to run on base map. If i start the car it will not idle it sounds like it firing on 2 but after checking it isn't . The rev drop and rise all over the place and I'm struggling to set the timing as i can't get it to idle and get up to temperature (working on my own) I don't know if the setting are right.. When i first got it, it was set to Falling edge Going high And revd normally but blew the coils and ignitor.. Checked the voltages 5v with engine of car on on going high So switched it to going low - after looking at the DIYautotune Now we have this problem.... Really need help with someone who nose what the setting should be rather that speculating (that is what I'm doing) Cheers guys |
Same issue again today, drives fine on standard management

Do you run seq inj ?
If not, change seq inj setting to "untimed injection" If you run seq inj change injector drivers to "additional drivers" Set "fix timing or table" to table or fixed - you know what to use for what ? About the idle, start with "warm-up" not closed loop, you can check my blog for more info. Set Required Fuel to the value the calculator gave 13~ not 6.55. "Spark Output" = "Going High" Rad fun is not configured, make sure it is running. |

Spark output Going high is wrong as it read 5v car on engine off?? |

I have changed the Injection sequence to "untimed"
|
I did read that but the Going high setting kept blowing my ignitor and coils so thought it may be wrong for my ecu
|
stock coils ?
|
'yeah mate, so i check the voltage
going high - 5V going low - 0.6v Engine of car on |
Would that semi setting course my car to feel like it running on 2 even though it not?
|
I think so, how does it run after the change ?
|
Just got out of the shower going to run down now mate, i live in a cotton mill conversion on the 3rd floor lol
be about 10min ill post my reply |
Made no difference....
accelerator pedal still does nothing.. completely lost |
TPS works ?
Calibrated ? |
Updated setting above and nothing happened acted the same apart from now i have all 3 LED on the front light up
It also stays around the 59 - 84KPA with no acceleration at 200rpm - 500rpm when it does try to idle?? Isn't that bit high? I though it meant to idle at 30 - 51? |

The log show you are very rich tune it.
Rise the cranking duty up so the engine will keep high rpm at start up Change to warmup instead of closed loop idle and set the duty table @ high idle so the engine will idle high. k? 1. too rich. 2. warmup idle - not closed loop. 3. high idle duty all around - crank duty and idle duty. 4. log No corrections are enabled... you must tune the cranking/ASE/warmup fuel... What do you use if not TPS !? |

Also i think it is running rich cause it is misfiring, the idle drop instantly from 800 to 200 then back up like it missing a beat ?
