Ms2E EBC woes

Hello all,

I need some assistance.
I have a 1997 Miata, with an FM kit and a Megasquirt MS2 Enhanced from Reverant.
I have a dyno tuning appointment on Saturday, and decided to wire my EBC today to make sure everything works okay.

I am using a MAC solenoid from DIYautotune. I've tested the solenoid to prove it works, and have wired up the EBC properly,
One lead went to the blue under hood connector for 12V (Planning to wire it to the MAF plug as per OGPedXing on YouTube, video in link. The other lead went to the MS2's green wire.

Instructions from reverant are: Green - Boost control output. Connect this to a boost control valve, the other wire of the boost control valve needs to be connected to a switched and fused 12V source, a 5 amp fuse is recommended.

If I test the MAC solenoid manually with a 12V source, it clicks. If I use the test mode, no clicking, nothing. I'm using the PA0 pin for boost control, from what I gather it's the one that's supposed to be used.
Trying to ascertain why my EBC will not respond to test mode.

Open the ECU, locate the EBC jumper, set it to 2-3 for "Normal" operation, the solenoid will now work in test mode.

Do I need to switch it back after?
Is there a reason it's like this or is there another way to test EBC before operation under load?

Advanced mode allows you to have two boost tables and to be able to switch between the two using a digital input. This is an experimental feature that was not guaranteed to work, so we had the option to use the normal mode, where the MS2 controls the boost valve directly. I would recommend using the normal mode since you don't have much time to test the advanced mode.
