Ms3 basic 2000 Miata ac Programmable outputs
4 Attachment(s)
Hello was wondering if I can get help on this one. I have a working ac system. I can only turn on the AC in tuner studio by switching the Programmable outputs off and on and then hitting burn. The ac button is green but doesn't work when I depress the switch. I was fooling with the settings in "ac idle" and the advanced engine>Programmable output section in tuner studio😔. Why do we use inj E for fan control and inj F for ac control? Why are they not enabled in the Programmable output section? Thanks and many thanks.
Would someone be a pal and post their settings for ac idle up and their Programmable outputs. Here are mine below. Thanks in advance. Also see my thread entitled "ms3 basic and flex fuel" any input is appreciated. I have a smaller jrsc pulley wanting to go on and a ddmworks Cai for jrsc also ready to install. Hopefully I can get 150hp on e85. I made 140hp so far. Very dependable DD. Once I get my AC sorted. |
The settings are correct. If the A/C doesn't work when you press the A/C button, more likely than not you don't have any refrigerant in the system or the pressure switch has malfunctioned.

I have 21 oz refrigerant in system. I had jiffy lube evac and fill the system. I can get the ac working (ac clutch engages and inside cabin gets COLD) by going to Programmable outputs and enabling inj E and inj F. I would just turn the states to on and hit burn. This gets the ac clutch to engage and blow cold AC. However the ac button fails to turn off/on the AC. Hmm. It seems I have the input incorrect? It worked fine before I messed with the settings. Is your Programmable output enabled for inj E and F? I have seconds to 0 on both. Thanks. Please take a look at my states on inj g and h. Are those set right. Also I would like the ac fan to kick on when the ac does. Really what I would like is an explanation as to what inj E,F,G,AndH do on the attached pics I have. Also how is the "data in" supposed to help control the ac? Is it supposed to be tablewsitch like I've read on brainiac? Ac setting post located somewhere here in the forums. Granted his is for earlier version of Ms. Thanks again. In the meantime im getting ready to pull jrsc to place tdr racing heatshield and add the smaller pulley. Please someone chime in to help me get these settings correct. BTW the ac switch functions (turns green when on and off when off).

Reverant thanks for your time sir. I appreciate you

Wait, if you press the A/C switch in the HVAC controls, does the A/C indicator in TunerStudio turn green?
|
Yes it did. "AC" was green in tuner studio. Doesn't turn off when I depress the actual ac button.
|
Serial number of the unit please.
|
The only way to get the ac green icon in tuner studio is for me to manually enable Programmable output for ing E or F and burn. I'm not sure which one I did, but that got the ac icon green in ts. I also verified at that time the ac compressor was engaged and blowing cold air in the cabin. Also everything worked fine when I first installed from version 1.3. I am on version 1.5 now and the latest version of Ultra ts. Could it be a change in the fw?

Will get serial number from unit after I get my kids from school. Thanks again for your time.

Serial number is 12678. Bought from Trackspeed.

Oh it worked before and it doesn't ever since you updated the firmware?
|
Was working in 1.30. When I switched to 1.4 and messed with the settings on ac idle is when it stopped working. I upgraded to 1.5 to see if that would fix the issue.
|
Enable "Fan on with A/C on". Apart from that, it should work. I haven't tested with 1.5, perhaps there's a firmware bug as I see changes in the settings. It definitely works with 1.3.x and 1.4.0.

I will enable the fan. If that fails, I will do a fresh install of 1.4. Will report back here.

This is interesting, I notice that if I switch the settings for FAN and AC input to ing F and ing E respectively. I can get the AC light to turn green in tuner studio, however I can't turn off the AC using the button. This is letting me know my AC is working. Blows cold. Something is reversed. Your thoughts and suggestions greatly appreciated.
Also I noticed, when I turn fan control off. I see that the first fan that comes on is the passenger fan?! Shouldn't it be the drivers fan that is controlled by temp and passenger fan by AC switch? |
Reviving this old thread
this seems to be my exact issue. Any follow up on this issue with the basic ms3 from reverent? |
