MS3 install but wont start
1 Attachment(s)
Hey everyone, first post and trying to give some background. 1990 Miata 1.6 mostly stock, afm delete, wideband installed and working, next the MS3 pro i installed. I cannot for the life of me get the car to start now that the ecu is installed. i have a composite log i will attach as well, but the main error i can see is the "not RPM synced" on the main screen. A little more background was that when i tried loading the base map it had a sync error, but i was told it should still be ok to at least get the car started, which obviously isn't working. I got the base map off the tunerstudio website. Go easy on me and break it down barney style, I'm not good with computers and this is my first attempt at tuning. Thanks!

Don't use the USB cord. Just plug the USB adapter straight into your laptop. That is what fixed my sync error. |
Ok I'll try the basemap from turbokitty.com, and i was using the usb cord that came with the megasquirt into my laptop, is there some other way?

mine came with the white cord then a USB adaptor and then a USB cord. Don't use the usb cord, just plug the USB adapter straight into your computer. That short usb cable caused the connection from megasquirt to my laptop not very stable.

So i tried switching usb cables, and going with a base map from trubokitty.com and matching the firmware they have on that site, and it was still a no go. Tried using the older fw with the diyautotune ecu base map and still a no go. I go back to the latest FW, 1.5.1, and use trubokitty base map and it started to fire and backfire a bit but was shuddering the whole car and died very quickly so i didn't want to damage anything. I am back on the stock AFM and ecu but still have the wideband installed and put the ST fuse back and now the car runs pretty much like normal. I really hope it isn't a defective ECU.
