MS3 NB idle control?
I enjoyed putting my DIYPNP together so I'm now considering doing a MS3 kit.
Does the MS3 have better control over the NB idle valve or does it still require Jean's PWM circuit? |
I use the standard pwm frequency 390Hz and it works like a dream.

Yeah, on MS3 we have hardware PWM channels, so we can do higher frequencies with the same resolution as the lower frequencies. No extra hardware required.

Y8s you're running NB valve? I'm pretty sure it requires 500hz.
Muythaibxr that sounds great! With the DIYBOB I'm not sure why you'd go for a DIYPNP with the MS3x available. How high can you drive the MS3x PWM then? |

Valve Frequency Selection - This setting is used to select between 1.5KHz mode and reduced frequency mode. Some valves will not work at the high 1.5KHz frequency, and for those it is necessary to use the reduced frequency mode. Possible Settings: 1.5KHz - Set the valve frequency to 1.5KHz Use reduced - Use a reduced frequency. Possible Frequencies are listed in the reduced frequency item. Reduced Frequency - This setting should be used for those valves that do not work at the higher 1.5KHz frequency setting. how about 390??
500 is what the factory uses. you could use 100Hz if you wanted but it might be loud and slow to react. 390 is not far enough off to cause serious problems. I've been using it for a while and it's the best my car has idled on an aftermarket engine management. If you would rather build another board and get all complicated go ahead :) |
