MS3mini Water Meth Control
Hey, just wondering what the best way to control my WI using the ms3mini. I have unused pwm outputs at both the VVT and Boost pins on the board. I was planning to use the VVT output. I read somewhere that I could used the boost pin to a relay to the pump for B+ and then use the VVT output on the ground side of the pump for the PWM signal. Is it that simple? I'm guessing I can't just run the VVT output to the pump as the pump draws a fairly large current. What you guys think?
Edit: Maybe I should just get one of these? https://www.snowperformance.net/High...-40060-brd.htm and use the vvt output to control the solenoid instead of controlling the pump? |
Definitely don't use the VVT output to drive the pump. What kit are you using? If you're using a shurflo-type pump, you don't really want to be using PWM to vary the flow rate at all. The pump takes too long to wind up/down. You should have the pump running at all times (there should be an internal bypass) and control flow using a solenoid valve, like the one you linked to. Essentially, you want the meth injection system to mimic the fuel delivery system (i.e. the pump just shoves fuel through the lines, and the injectors fine-tune fuel delivery).

Yeah that should work, but you should really ask snow if the solenoid is designed to be controlled that way. And you should probably talk your tuner too. No point in setting it up properly if he doesn't want to tune it.

I tune my own car so no worries there. |
