Sorry, long over due update. I am still having issues with VVT. In my testing I was able to borrow another MS3 Pro unit and verify that my VVT functions correctly with that unit. I am also able to fully advance the VVT cam via a 9volt battery attached to the solenoid with the car running.

In testing my VVT solenoid I was able to get a noid light to flash in the pulsed setting in test mode. As soon as a solenoid is plugged in, the solenoid will actuate a few times (2-3 full actuations, 3-pump wonder) and then get progressively slower and slower until it stops. In talking to DIY Autotune, they suggested there may be a burnt trace on the ground for the high current drivers as I get the same issues on all 3 outputs. It was suggested that I add a ground wire from the 3rd leg on the high current output driver to a PGRND source. This did not resolve my issue. The next step is to send the ECU back to DIY Autotune with another $75 diagnostic fee. I will also be sending a solenoid with the ECU for testing.

I am very frustrated and at this point I am almost ready to just either sell the car or buy another $1300 ECU. I have a feeling that when I send my ECU in for service, they will not find the cause of the issue and I will be stuck without VVT.
