MS3X Firmware Update Error

Howdy!

I have a braineack built MS3X that I'm in the process of installing. I put everything together and got the TPS working. I realized there was a firmware update to 1.5 so I installed that and flashed it onto the MS3X. When I started Tuner Studio, I got a whole host of errors essentially indicating that there was some incompatibility between the tune on the MS and on TS. It gave me the option of reflashing the tune from TS onto the MS, which I did. Was this the right move? Should I reflash the firmware onto the MS3X and see if the issue happens again?

The tune was just a basemap, but I'm completely new to this so I want to make sure I don't try to start the car with a corrupted file or anything. Would it be prudent to get a new base map that's compatible with the newer firmware for starting things up?

Thanks in advance.

I backed up my map, loaded the new firmware and re-imported the map. It came up with a bunch of errors, mainly with the units used for certain tables versus being percentage based, but everything shifted over fine.

i don't believe there is anything gained for you between 1.4.1 and 1.5.0...

So the firmware upgrade was basically an added headache with no upside? Whoops...
Should I just move forward with the current settings or get a new basemap from you set up for 1.5? I did tell TS to use the settings saved on the tune instead of overwriting things from the MS to address the errors/inconsistencies that popped up. Sorry about the inconvenience :/

you could benefit from the added engine states, and the boost control update-- but that's about it.

usually you'll just ignore the errors, since your current tune file has no settings for all the new features added in the firmware... save the file once you've accepted the errors, and try reloading; it should load cleanly now.

Don't think boost control changed from 1.4.1 to 1.5, other than adding dome control, and hes definitely not going to use that. Just the engine states. Which imo are great for someone learning to tune.

1.4.1 to 1.5 was somewhat annoying. And even going from the 1.5 alphas to the release I had issues. You really need to copy the error log and then go check every setting that is listed as a warning. Its pretty annoying.

Make sure to save your tune before trying too.

Is there any way to recall those error messages? I was digging around and didn't think to copy/paste it the only time it popped up.

Nope. That is why I specifically called out to copy paste it. I have not been able to recall them. What I have done in the past is reload my old tune (that I saved ahead of time) and copy the errors then.

My tune was the virgin basemap that Brain had loaded on the MS3X. I hadn't even messed with a menu and I still got honey bunches of errors.

I'm not sure how I'd reload the old tune. I'm a bit nervous about the errors having changed something in the basemap. But I never changed anything so....

I should have copied or screenshot-ed the errors. Didn't think of it since I was trying to make progress at like 1 AM after school and wanted to pass out.

Brain et braintrust.

Would I be better off going back down to the older firmware and reloading the base map?

Aka doing the stuff from here: https://trubokitty.com/#/tune
