MS3X misfire issue

Hey all, just had a misfire issue with my turbo NA, it was cutting under full load at 4500 rpm. After speaking with someone I ordered a Toyota COP plug and play kit, as soon as I plugged it in it sounded like I dropped a cylinder, plugged the LS coils back in and had the same idling issue and now it wont even start at all, brand new spark plugs, injectors are pumping, motor is cranking and it sounds like its going to fire then it just shuts down. I think the gap is .026" or right around there, just wondering if MS3X stores fault codes, and if I can disconnect the battery like on a conventional car to hopefully drop the code or if I am going to need to try and get a tuning program on this laptop to see if I can find the issue. I've reached out to some local guys and they're just dicks and offer to buy my car for super cheap. In a pretty hard place right now, starting school in 3 weeks and this was my best performing car oddly enough since the AC runs like a champion. Any help will be greatly appreciated in trying to diagnose whatever the hell is happening.

Overboost protection?

What did you change (dwell table, cranking dwell etc) in Tuner Studio between the LS Coils and the Toyota COPS? Do you have a restore point to grab your old settings when it ~was~ running?

Honestly, I have nothing, the car came this way when I bought it, previous owner didn't give any logs or anything like that, I tried hooking to tunerstudio on my old laptop and it was having connectivity issues. I have asked a few locals, even offered to pay them for their time and assistance and no one can be bothered to help.

As for the toyota coils, I was told it would be absolute plug and play, I told them I had MS3X, and the car came with non OEM coils wired in, answer was still the same on their end. Sucks now I am finding out that it wasn't the case.

Not always the case, especially if you've been running LS coils. Depending on which ones you have, you definitely don't want to over dwell them. Learn your car, troubleshoot the connectivity issues in Tuner Studio, when you create a project, it's going to save a restore point and create a file titled "CurrentTune.msq" or something similar.

Post that up.

Once I figure out how to run tunerstudio I'll give it a shot, I will probably still need guidance because I've never used it before in my life.

Ok so I hooked the car up to TS, cranked it and it ran, shut it off, cranked it again and now it wont fire over. I have ZERO tuning experience, so I just need to get this car running so I can commute to and from school in the future. The settings should all be the same as when I got the car, the only thing I did was plug in the Toyota COP and fire it, immediately right back to the LS coils. Could one of the coils have completely burned out? Hope this file is able to provide some insight in to the issue.

where are you from by the way? I feel you will need more than some forum posts to get it running right..

From Naples, FL

car ran good before this bullshit, had a friend try and give me some step by step shit to diag it, gotta test fire the coils, at this point im honestly hoping that the coils are in the wrong order, we will see

What's the last time you changed your spark plugs?
Also your VE table looks very messy. Timing seems aggressive, but possibly survivable.

changed them just before buying the toyota COP, but after test firing each coil individually with an old plug and then checking the new ones, they seemed pretty messy, may get some new ones and attempt it again, its just so damn confusing because nothing in the tune was altered, but my dumb ass probably had all the coils plugged in to wrong cylinders

now for clarification, when i test fire "Coil C", would that be considered the coil for cylinder 3 or whichever cylinder corresponds with being third in the firing order?

if I can get this thing running again, I'll pay the money for the full version of TS so then I can try to auto tune and learn a little more to smooth things out, I've been begging my locals to lend a hand with smoothing the car out for almost two years now :shrugs:
