Default What is Autotune?

I'm sorry this is a silly question but what is Autotune and how does it work? Does it adjust fuelling and timing for a certain a/f ratio? I'm sorry if this is a silly question its just I've never heard of a computer mapping a car automatically..

Fueling yes, timing...I almost said no, but the way megasquirt advanced over the years...maybe spark too? Fuel is adjusted by values based off a target table, so I'm not sure how spark would autotune...

It will adjust the values in your VE table to get your AFRs closer to the target values.
Won't touch anything with your ignition.

Just the VE values (fueling).

There is no real autotune.

There is VEAL, or "VE Analyze Live!" in tunerstudio. Then there's the VE Analyze in megalogviewer, which pretty much does what VEAL does using pre-recorded logs. All they do is try to match the VE table to your own entered AFR table. It will tune to whatever you input, and it won't tell you if what you're asking of it is dumb or unsafe. It's not a miracle tool, but it does work most times. It won't magically find more power, or tell you where you're wasting it, that is still up to you. It has nothing at all to do with timing, only matching the VE table to what you're asking of it in the AFR lookup table.

Then there's WUE autotune, which is pretty self explanatory. It (tries) to autotune WUE. Again, it just tries to match data you give it.

All of this is covered on the EFI Analytics website. It would benefit you greatly to read such things.

^what he said. It is called VE Analyze Live and is part of the deluxe version of Tuner Studio.

Ahhhhh . . . pining for the old mt.net. This is the new, kinder/gentler version. It's 2015 after all.

I thought it adjusted the fuelling via the map and O2 sensor so when it hits boost it will bring the fuelling down to a more suitable level, or am I wrong?

Well with ms3 idle rpm timing correction it does touch timing. But not to tune it just to help the idle.

But seriously. RTFM. Ms-extra and efi-analytics websites will answer every question you have asked.

It adjusts the fuel map whenever it is running. It does fuel tuning for you, in vacuum or in boost. It adjusts the fuel table to try and match your AFR targets.

OK, time for the real mt.net to come forward. It is 2015 after all.

You're wrong.

You take a picture of the engine, feed it into TunerStudio, wait 24 hours, and it calculates all of the necessary parameters and loads them into the MSIII.

Make sure the Turbo is in the picture, or it won't work right.

Also, you have to get out of the house (currently listed "Location") to tune the car.

You have to specify which map sensor you have. If its reading psi instread of kilo pascals, and your o2 sensor isn't listed correct...it will definitely not do anything for you.

Have you guys tried the auto-race feature? Still in beta testing, but it will run the quarter mile in 9 seconds or less with the "double clutch not granny shift" enabled
