MSPNP Boost Controll Issue.

Ok, Im having a few issues with my boost, it's falling off after 5,300 RPM

I am using a electronic solenoid, im not sure what type it is but it works and is controllable (so far), the solenoid is from a link piggy back ECU.

My 5,000 RPM colum on the boost kPa target map was set to (40), and the 7,000 RPM colum was set to (40) aswell.

Which gave me the first datalog ( I am also tuning fuel )

I raised the 5,000 RPM colum by (5), and the 7,000 RPM colum by (9) and it gave me the second datalog.

What do ya'll think ?

It falls off more than it did before??? I do have the setting set to were the increase of voltage decreases boost but I thought that it changes the way the map works....... or do I need to lower the number to raise boost?

Thank you!

Are you sure you actually burned the map? When you look at the datalog, the actual DC seen by the solenoid is the same in both logs - 20% to redline. Post your MSQ.

Also, instead of hosting on mediafire, etc. just throw the datalogs and MSQ into a Zip file and post it as an attachment here. Much faster for everyone.

You need to work on your fuel curve, BTW. Your AFRs are all over the place, lean spikes and such. My car with my timing map and that kind of fuel curve would detonate like hell just from lean spots alone.

ok, i'll post up and im running water/meth injection so i guess im kinda safe till I get the fuel steady.

The first is my MSQ.
Second is the first datalog
Third is the second datalog

Ok I just looka at the BCDuty and i see what you are saying about the 20% but even if i change the Boost targets it doesnt change......

Maybe I have the setting wrong for this solenoid?

You have to burn the changes you make to your ECU. If you just change the numbers and then close the box, it won't save anything. You have to hit File->Burn to ECU or Alt-B to actually get the changes to save.

As far as your fuel curve goes, your VE table looks fine, but open your datalog and check out one of the WOT pulls; your acceleration enrichments are WAY hyper-active. Every time they click on, you go rich, and every time they click off you get a lean spike. The fact that they are going on and off during a 100% WOT pull is not good. Turn them off completely and see where your fuel map is at; once you have a smooth curve, mabye 11.8 at torque peak to 12.0 at redline, then fiddle with them. (turn them off by setting the KPa/sec threshold to like 300kpa/sec)

Oh ok what I was doing is making the changes, exit out of box and then save as, and when I get in the car burn the saved file..... wont that work ?

Also the Accel Enrichment is the Accel Wizard correct?

I think this is better.....

Also i think my solenoid is bad. :jerkit:

Accel enrichment = accel wizard, yeah. My MSQ is attached, DON'T run my spark maps or fuel maps. Spark is way too aggressive up top, I think the advanced timing is causing post-shift knock and the fuel is tuned for my small turbo.

No, you're just saving the same map over and over again and burning the same map over itself. You have to burn the individual changes you make.

01TurboMiata 05-22-2008 07:49 PM

ok, Thank you, Ill try out burning it that way.

Savington 05-22-2008 08:08 PM

Let's do all our communication in this thread. Post your new MSQ with the changes burned into it, and a datalog of the problem with that MSQ burned into the MS.

Just did this one...... it seems to stay alittle higher than before but I dont know if its cause the car just warmed up and isnt as hot as before ?

01TurboMiata 05-22-2008 08:28 PM

Its still at 20% also...... I think the solenoid is bad.

Braineack 05-22-2008 08:34 PM

20% has nothing to do with the solenoid...

if it says 20 on your log it's cause your telling it to do 20.

turn the closed loop limit to 0, burn, increase the DC map, burn.

01TurboMiata 05-22-2008 08:46 PM

10-4

01TurboMiata 05-22-2008 08:55 PM

It didn't change anything, and still says 20.

Braineack 05-22-2008 08:56 PM

are you changing the kPA targets table and not the DC% table....

01TurboMiata 05-22-2008 08:59 PM

Im changing kPa targets for the 5,000 and 7,000 RPM range were it is falling off.

01TurboMiata 05-22-2008 09:04 PM

Wow, I honestly didn't even know that was there, totally over looked that and the DC% is set to 20% across the board.
