MSPNP MM9697 Beta Testers Needed in Atlanta Area

Anyone interested please shoot us an email at websales@diyautotune.com with the subject line 'MSPNP MM9697 Beta Tester Application'.

Tell us:
  1. Year of your car (1996 or 1997 only)
  2. Condition, Mileage
  3. Is it your daily driver?
  4. N/A, Turbo, Supercharged?
  5. Any current engine management related mods? (piggyback, FMU, hackjob bandaid?)
  6. Your technical ability and tuning experience
  7. Your board name here on MT.net

Must be manual tranny
A/C must be operational
Must be in the greater Atlanta Metro area, close enough to bring the car into our shop when needed.

We need:
  • One car that's bone stock or very close to it
  • One car that's turbocharged
  • One car that's supercharged

If you're selected (and not everyone can be, sorry), you'll get a good price on a beta MSPNP MM9697 and free tuning. The expectation from your end will be cooperation and flexibility through the beta testing process and beyond as we test and launch the product.

The good news, our 97 n/a loaner car is running like a champ ;). 120wtq and 127.5whp. That's on a 10:1 forged internal motor with ARP fasteners.

Haha, no kidding!

*goes back to assembling MegaSquirt*

drewbroo 10-04-2007 09:18 AM

I'm in Tampa.... too far from Atlanta?

FoundSoul 10-04-2007 10:43 AM

That would be a pretty tough drive if we needed to make changes and or retune and whatnot I'd think....

drewbroo 10-04-2007 12:45 PM

I know, it was just wishful thinking

matredd 10-04-2007 01:21 PM

I'm only 5.6 miles from you.

iWeasel410 10-06-2007 10:59 PM

If you want to mail one out to Cali, I have a bone stock 97 :)

So I see you've visited the area before ;)

magnamx-5 10-07-2007 02:44 PM

Damn i wish we could get our 96 in on this. 105K miles AC/PS, no major mods other than a KN and good fluids, and diret FP rewire.

FoundSoul 10-07-2007 08:34 PM

I think I may have nailed down the stock car here locally-- turbo and S/C car are still up for grabs....

Ben 10-07-2007 09:07 PM

cool--was it Grant & his white 96?

Don't think I've heard from Grant-- I'm talking to Matt out in L'ville.

Saml01 10-09-2007 10:27 AM

Grrrrr, if only you guys were in NY.

97 M, 20k miles, Bone stock.

---

Will you guys be posting the MSQ file from the 96/97 like you do with the others?

Yep

karter74 10-09-2007 11:06 AM

Just out of curiousity, do you suspect the 96-97 fuel/spark maps will differ much from the 94-95?

FoundSoul 10-09-2007 12:15 PM

I suspect that the maps will be very similar...

UrbanSoot 10-09-2007 02:12 PM

how about testers in cali?

FoundSoul 10-09-2007 02:14 PM

I'm looking for testers nearby right now... I've got the capability to properly tune and if needed, troubleshoot the cars firsthand. That's not do-able from any other location....

UrbanSoot 10-09-2007 02:18 PM

makes sense. when is the approximate release date for mm9697? i dont think i will ever come around installing my megasquirt otherwise!

UrbanSoot 10-09-2007 02:31 PM

i want to pre-order it. is it possible?

FoundSoul 10-09-2007 04:06 PM

We've always shyed away from pre-orders for the most part as I don't like to have people's money until I'm ready to ship their product, but once released (think 6 weeks probably as we want to thoroughly beta test under all conditions) we'll have plenty to go around so you'll still get it just as fast if you order when released as if you had pre-ordered it...

UrbanSoot 10-09-2007 04:09 PM

gotcha. any way i can get my hands on beta version? i need to get up and running in few weeks. i missed HIN last saturday (was supposed to show my miata there) because my suspension was delayed but now im shooting for new deadline of october 27th so i can show this car at SEMA.

Joey94R 10-09-2007 04:45 PM

My 94 with a stock drivetrain is just sitting at Dyno4mance in Calhoun, GA now. It runs great, i am just driving the STi for a few weeks and the Miata is just sitting there waiting for the upgrade fairy.

orion4096 11-21-2007 12:36 AM

I can't wait for this to be available - always wanted to play around with engine management hardware/software and this looks to be a good starting point for my 97. Hopefully you found enough people to test it sufficiently. :yippee:

Siegel Racing 11-21-2007 09:45 AM

MSPNP free beta testing FTW ;)

Siegel

Saml01 11-21-2007 09:58 AM

Foundsoul, would I be correct in assuming that the biggest obstacle you guys have with the 96-97 pnp is the move of the vital sensors to the middle connector?

I havent seen a PNP from the inside but I would imagine you guys need to print a whole new circuit board.

FoundSoul 11-22-2007 10:12 AM

That went failrly quickly actually, and yes a new circuitboard was required... we're in beta testing making sure everything is PERFECT.

What's up Siegel?

FoundSoul 11-22-2007 10:14 AM

As for beta testers with a 96 or 97 car, I'd be interested in 1 or 2 more maybe. But it's required you are in the Atlanta area and that you can be somewhat flexible, others please don't even ask. I'd do it if it made sense but it just doesn't.

Siegel Racing 11-22-2007 10:24 PM

Hey Jerry. Happy T-Day. I'm just trying to get my postcount up, I mean trying to be helpful on the board until I can PM people about buying their turbo stuff ;)

Siegel

orion4096 12-03-2007 08:53 PM

Any news?

Saml01 12-03-2007 08:59 PM

I want a 9697 msq file. Cmon Jerry. :D

cjernigan 12-03-2007 09:17 PM

The MM9495 map will get you VERY close..... Only minor changes are needed.

orion4096 12-09-2007 09:23 PM

Any news on the mspnp 96/97? It's taking a lot of effort not to spend this money on something else. :)

FoundSoul 12-10-2007 10:34 AM

We're just trying to finish up some details with the beta testing, I've got two beta testers coming in this week to help with this, one existing and one new, and we're working as fast as we can to get this perfect and out the door to you guys. It's in our best interest too ;).
