MSpnp no power

I installed my mspnp today to try and get started on my tuning. At first the car wouldn't start, I swapped ecus out then reinstalled my mspnp. Now my mspnp has no power (check engine light doesnt come on on my dash and megatune wont recognize) The fuse was pulled before I installed my megasquirt, could it have french fried on me some how? I mean it was communicating to my laptop perfectly before I pulled it out.

Unplug the igniter and burn firmware, load the 9093 base MSQ, adjust the com ports, try again.

Get a multi-meter and wait for someone who knows more than me to chime in.

FowlerMotorsports 05-13-2012 11:31 AM

Well when I plug the stock ecu back in I have power, I believe. CEL comes on on the dash but car wont start. I'll check both the connectors to see if I have 12v, I think I recall pin 26 but not sure on that

hustler 05-13-2012 11:39 AM

This is a 1.6 harness/car, 1.8 engine, and MSpnp9093...right?

FowlerMotorsports 05-13-2012 11:42 AM

Yes, pin 1 has 12v so I am getting power, my MS just isn't

Matt Cramer 05-14-2012 10:30 AM

Is this a Gen 1 or Gen 2 MSPNP?

hustler 05-14-2012 10:32 AM

Gen 1.

Here is the rest of his issue:

If you have nothing to add here, I'll combine the threads.

gotta try it again with the boot jumper.

FowlerMotorsports 05-14-2012 01:41 PM

ecu is modded for vtps, unplugged the tps and it started communicating. not sure why it communicated before i unplugged

Braineack 05-14-2012 01:53 PM

because it's not modded correctly? or not really a vtps? sounds like you've shorted to 5v.

FowlerMotorsports 05-14-2012 02:28 PM

what do you suggest i do? cause honestly idk whats going on

Braineack 05-14-2012 03:42 PM

what tps did you mod to?

FowlerMotorsports 05-14-2012 04:18 PM

I bought it this way, told it was modded for vtps. Im running a 93 1.8 flyin miata swap, so it has a 1.6 throttle body and tps

Braineack 05-14-2012 04:19 PM

well if you have a 1.6L tps, then you cant connect the TPS if the MS been modded for vtps...it causes a short to 5v.

keep it unplugged, so on about your day.

FowlerMotorsports 05-14-2012 04:29 PM

i just learned that. but not trying to start it that way it wont fire, something is causing me not to get spark(hence my other topic) so i am replacing my ignitor to see what happens

FowlerMotorsports 05-14-2012 04:32 PM

"now trying to start the car with the tps plugged in wont give spark ".... sorry double post my phone wont let me edit the last post
