Mspnp2, loaded tune, tuner "cant handle" bricked

Help! Installed a mspnp2 in my 91 and tried to load the basic tune. But tuner studio won't accept it and says it can't and won't let me load a new project without telling me the same thing..

Car won't run, can't load any other tunes poor modify anything

ianferrell 06-23-2012 08:47 AM

Whats the exact error message?

Braineack 06-23-2012 08:51 AM

and what exact basetune were you trying to load? and how were you trying to load it? and was this the first time installing it? can you connect to the ms with your laptop? do you want to leave out any more detail so we cant help help you?

reflashed firmware, fixed the problem.
car runs now but extremely lean ( changing the afr tables dont change things..yes im burning it onto the ecu ) and cant load the 1992miata.msq basetune that was included

Why would changing the AFR table change the current fuelling.

Change the VE table to effect fuelling. The AFR table is a target for EGO

changing my fuel ve table values doesnt affect my AFR at all. im now somehow stuck at 12.1 constantly

Have you considered that your AFR reading is probably fucke up?

debris91 06-24-2012 07:54 PM

I have considered this, i just put in a new o2 sensor. Still having the same results.

Matt Cramer 06-25-2012 10:01 AM

Would that be a wideband or narrow band O2 sensor?

And is it:

a) Calibrated and,
b) Setup as a the correct type of wideband in TunerStudio?

debris91 06-25-2012 11:59 AM

Just the stock Mazda O2 sensor, not sure how to calibrate

Zaphod 06-25-2012 12:56 PM

R.T.F.M. sorry I couldn't resist...

ianferrell 06-25-2012 02:24 PM

You're going to have to have a wideband if you want any chance of being able to tune your car.... The odds of getting a basemap that's dead nuts perfect is kinda slim, and thats what you're relying on cause that '12:1' you're seeing is about all you're going to get out of a narrowband.

soloracer 06-25-2012 04:03 PM

...and BTW. 12:1 is not only NOT "extremely lean", it's rich at anything but moderate to high boost and wide open throttle.
